Dear Patron,
Thank you so much for your support of the Linden Public Library during this unprecedented time. We have enjoyed connecting with many of you virtually over the past few months. We are looking forward to getting library materials back into your hands soon.
When Governor Murphy announced to the public on Friday, June 12th at his 1pm news conference that libraries were going to be open for curbside pickup starting on Monday, June 15th, he failed to notify the actual libraries until later that day.
Having given the libraries only 1 hour of a business day to scramble to put into effect a curbside protocol, we are trying to rise to the occasion and implement one ASAP.
We are putting together a phased reopening plan for the Library, which will include new safety protocols. Our goal is to fully restore Library services over the next several months, while continuing to prioritize the health and well-being of patrons and staff.
Our staff will be working on preparing the building, collections, and technology for reopening. The book drop is open if you would like to return your items. Due dates for items currently checked out are extended until July 6, so there is no rush to bring your returns back.
The Friends of the Linden Public Library are unable to accept book donations at this time, and we appreciate your patience with that.
We plan to begin offering contact-free holds pickup to you on Monday, June 22. You can begin placing your items on hold through your account at www.Lindenpl.org. Your account number is your library card number and your pin code is the last 4 digits (unless you changed it).
You can also place holds by emailing us at HOLDS@LINDENPL.ORG, or calling us at 908-298-3830.
Our staff will fulfill your order and call you to make an appointment for pick up. Once you arrive for your scheduled pick-up time, we ask that you call the library at 908-298-3830 and let us know that you have arrived. Your bagged items (marked with your name) will then be brought outside the doors. You can then come up to collect your bag.
If for any reason you are going to be late, or cannot make your appointment, we ask that you please call us so that we can reschedule. This way we can maintain social distancing with other patrons.
