Welcome to the Coon Rapids Public Library. The library is your one stop source for all of your informational needs. We have a large selection of books, magazines, newspapers, and electronic resources available to be checked out by our library card holders. Here you will also find electronic resources, news, announcements, and a calendar of upcoming library events!  

COVID-19 updates at the Library:

Great news! We're re-opening our doors today, June 1st!

Hours we'll be open:

• Monday-Friday from 11 am-5 pm 

• Sat. from 9 am-noon

• High Risk Individuals can call ahead and schedule a time to come into the library prior to open hours on Tues/Thurs from 10am-11am. 

Here's what you can expect when you come into the library and how to safely use our modified services:

• We ask that you practice social distancing when entering/exiting the library as well as when you are in the library.

• We politely request that you wear a mask when entering the library. 

• We ask that you use the hand sanitizer (provided by the library) when entering the library.

• No children under the age of 16 will be allowed in the library without an adult parent/guardian present.

• We will not be able to allow computer use during this time due to the reliable availability of disinfectant materials (This is subject to change once resources become readily available.)

• All seating areas/toys/puzzles/activities are unavailable during this time.  Daily newspapers will also be unavailable for patron use, however magazines can be checked out. (Please keep in mind that magazines cannot be disinfected.)

• Copying/faxing services will be available, but will be done by STAFF ONLY and will need to be pre-paid at the desk BEFORE any service is completed.  We will ask for EXACT change only during this time.  (Feel free to give us a call if you have questions on cost/time of item(s).) 

• All items will be returned through our book drop and have to be disinfected and quarantined for 72 hrs. before getting checked out to another patron.

• CURBSIDE PICKUP WILL STILL BE AVAILABLE FOR ALL THOSE PATRONS ENJOYING THAT SERVICE!

• Once we get items pulled and checked out, we’ll notify you of a date/time-frame when your books can be picked up inside the front entrance of the municipal building.

• If you are a high-risk individual please let us know and we'll accommodate a special pickup time for you.

We are sorry but at this time until more libraries open their doors we won't be able to take any inter-library loan requests.

We want to keep our staff, our patrons, and the public safe during this phase of re-opening, so if necessary the Library Director will adjust services as needed.  The Library Board will review re-opening phases periodically as well.
